Andrew D. Cotlar Andrew D. Cotlar is presently a general civil litigation attorney in practice with the Law Office of Steven A. Cotlar in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. In this capacity, Andrew represents individuals and businesses in employment discrimination, civil rights, tort, property, estate and other issues.
Andrew also possesses an expertise in communications law, public broadcasting, copyright and nonprofit law.
In addition, Andrew has experience filing advocacy documents before a number of federal appellate and district courts. Andrew also has experience managing compliance with laws affecting the administration and governance of nonprofits.
Andrew graduated from the Dickinson School of Law, Pennsylvania State University in 1999. Prior to his career in law, Andrew taught philosophy at Dickinson College and Gettysburg College. Prior to entering private practice, Andrew was in-house counsel with the Association of Public Television Stations in Washington, DC. Andrew holds an MA degree from the University of Wisconsin--Madison in philosophy and a BA from Vassar College. He and Karen Cotlar have two young children, Joshua and Daniel and live in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Andrew is a competitive fencer, a sport he has engaged in and loved for over 25 years, and plays classical piano.
| Steven A. Cotlar Steven A. Cotlar has over 37 years experience in Pennsylvania litigation. He has appeared in both state and federal court on a wide range of matters representing both individuals and corporations. Steven represents clients in employment discrimination, personal injury, commercial litigation, contracts, wills and estates and workers compensation matters, among others. Steven graduated from the Dickinson School of Law in 1969. He also holds a BA from Penn State. From 1969 to 1971, he was clerk to the Honorable Edmund V. Ludwig (E.D. Pa.). From 1971-1972, he was an associate in the law office of Hartzell and Bush in Doylestown, PA. The firm specialized in land-use and real estate matters. From 1972 until 1990, he was a partner in the general practice law firm of Cotlar, Mantz, Aglow and Elliott. At the firm, Steven's area of practice emphasized plaintiff's accident litigation, employment law, real estate and land-use issues as well as other complex litigation. From 1990, to the present, he has been a sole-practitioner in Doylestown, PA. Steven is admitted to practice in all Pennsylvania courts as well as the Federal District Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Steven and his wife Sandy live in Doylestown, PA and have a son, Andrew, who works in the practice. Steve enjoys classical music, tennis and playing with his grandsons. |
